Life is complicated. Life is messy. And sometimes we do things to others that we regret, things we know were wrong.
We’re not perfect, but we’re perfectly capable of asking for forgiveness. We’re perfectly capable of earnestly saying we’re sorry for what we’ve done or what we’ve left undone.
Others may choose not to forgive us and that’s okay. That’s a decision that they, and they alone, have the authority to make. But we have the ability to set our life free by making the amends God directs.
There are chapters that God won’t allow us to begin until we earnestly seek forgiveness from others. He is preparing us for a better life, a better “us.” Allow Him to do the work.
Is there someone you need to say “I’m sorry” to today? Take that courageous step and let them know how you feel.
You never know what great things may be in store when you ask for forgiveness.
